i was doing L-shaped box in the living as well but i exlcuded kitchen room 1+2 and the area on the front door. well because i was recommended by 1 of my uncle to this contractor so i was getting like very cheap price.he will start to do the celling tomorrow.

3.5 per square feets is marketed price. L-box marketed price will be like rm15 per "long feet"

I just finish my wedding now next project is to survey the ID for my unit. Plaster ceiling is one major headache I have. Thinking to have plaster ceiling from the main door to the living room + dining hall.

Really I'm very blur how it looks like the pipe running around the unit once the aircond is installed. I want to conceal the pipings but I really no idea about it.. sigh..

If I dont want do plaster ceiling, can I just make some box at the perimeter to cover the aircond piping?
No need downlight or wat la, just a plain box.... can?

my parents in law is using such 'box' to cover the aircond piping back in my hometown. white plastic box, just like the one covering normal wire/cable but of course bigger/thicker.. so you do have the option

Wah sounds ugly.. Want minimise the reno so thinking cut out the decorative stuffs.. But air con wiring is a problem..

Actually the plain / flat plaster ceiling might not be as expensive as you think. But sure make your ceiling looks really low..

That is the one problem..It will make the ceiling lower.. T.. my wife say your plaster ceiling okay wor..might go with your design

Ben, make sure you have the measurement of the aircond you are going after and give more buffer on the plaster ceiling.. otherwise pity the aircond installation guy having hard time to install/service the aircond

Currently bc wif my work, no time to survey here n there. Some more not sure our dream house when can complete.

No mood liao la. When I went survey at last homedec, I made booking then told the shop tht maximum also wait 6 months. Now more than 6 months liao, I need to call the shop and beg them to extend and keep my booking price. They ask me again when my house ready actually?? I said I also dunno. So they no choice extend another 3 months. Now already 1 month pass liao.
If they unwilling to extend anymore, I will need to pay new price, or change to other lower spec items to keep the old price.
Sh*t.

I will go homedec but i think wont be buying anything. I have a feeling that those who go to homedec e.g. Kian Classic, SCI, Signature Kitchen, tend to be quite expensive or just out to grab business. I would rather go thru forums and reviews from real customers.
Just know the homedec price is enuf liao, so can benchmark when get quotations from outside later.

It's really hard to benchmark when their price is almost double than the not branded ones. But then again cheap thing not always good thing. If your budget permits then go for it. Else really wasting time. My opinion only lah (from experience lah).

Ya thats why i think getting actual feedback thru forums like LYN or PJNet etc more reliable as the customers do comment on their workmanship and price.
But I do agree that one man's meat may be another man's poison. Some might prefer branded designers and contractors.
