Anybody already gotten a quote to paint the unit?
The one I got so far...

A shop in Kajang RM1,300 (labour ONLY. Paint material NOT inclusive) :
- whole house interior. Each room up to 2 colours (main + feature)
- include all doors
- include the ceiling
- balcony & yard not included
- minor touch up NOT skimming. Means if got hole he will tampal but he won't plaster the whole wall. Means if u have hacked your wall, the line will still shows.

Anyone got a better offer?
An offer that include paint material?
Beunos have also quoted but need to confirm the details.

ask around how ppl doing paint work. It is better you provide paint to them. If not ppl tends to mix the maxilite and pentalite and told u that they using pentalite (this is the small scret in this industry ). There is different also how many layer they will paint for you. single, double or triple. I think this all will affect the price. should ask in detail all this.

Beunos quoted 1500 for paint and 600 for skim work. Definitely higher than individual contractor but the price is around there for ID.

cm just double make sure again whether they wana take up ur job or not. as what we know, they will give u this price but they only will take up ur job if you take all their other package. by the way, buenos quoted 1500 paint for whole unit including paint is consider cheap!!

I'm getting 1600, can take up to 4 colors and using pearl glo...if not mistaken

hehe.. same here bro..i confirm wif him too.. paint as usual have to survey at the shop.. only once they confirm how many liters needed can go n survey..
near pasar borong got one new harware shop open.. got high tech mixing machine..hahaa will pay them a visit tomoro..

just ask around, if do not mixing, just master bedroom need at least 3 botles of pantelite paint dy.... immagine one bottle around RM90, how much needed for whole unit =.=

1 liter usualy looks mahal..but if u buy 5 liter or 3 liter..abit cheaper..

pantelite maximum only 3 litter i think. around 80++

maxilite got 5, 7 and 18 liters if not mistaken.
18 liters only cost less than 100

I'll still stick with ICI Pentalite Easy Clean. I estimate it to cost around RM130 per 5 litre can. For the doors, I'm gonna use Satinwood. Most probably won't be painting the ceiling... cut cost...

Pentalite Easy Clean (Custom Colour) 5-liter : RM95
Gloss Finish : RM120
Bought it from a shop in Jalan Besar SK, listed in ICI website.
The cheapest I got is RM94 but have to go all the way to Klang so I just bought it in Serdang. Shop name is Futt Choy Hardware, next to 7-11.

thedude, you going to paint your home yourself? I'm planning on buying the paint and paint the house myself. Just not sure how's the outcome going to look like.

No lah. I just supply the paint material to the contractor (who is also doing my plaster ceiling) who's gonna do the actual job. I too have once consider painting on my own but no time lah. So just pay someone to do it lor. Keke...

I'm not sure whether you guys want to go for Nippon Paints. I prefer Nippon Paints although the variety is lesser compare to ICI. There is shop in Puchong is selling Nippon Paint it stated a dealer nearby the Putri Mart.

If you happen to drop by my hometown Seremban, there is a place selling a few brands of paints. Is a BIG shop. Price Reasonable. Will check out the name for you if you want

one whole house exclude ceiling I use about 25 litre of paint for double layer paint work. Master room alone is use up to 5 litre of paint.

I think how much paint u use depends on the colour. Lighter colour will use less but darker colour will need more I think. Lighter colour is also cheaper than darker colour if u custom mix your paint. Standard colour (those available in the catalogue) is still the cheapest. My painting starts today. Hopefully can see the results this weekend.

Use Daniel one lah... I let him "pau" everything. Just hope they'll do a good job. How long did they took to complete your unit? 3 days?
