Kitchen Renovation
Did anyone went to check out the promotion by Kian Classic in Jusco Equine Park?
I went twice already but no one is free to bother with me.
I only managed to find out the following:
RM 12k for...
- L-shaped kitchen cabinet, laminated worktop, no hood, hob, sink or tap, no soft close, no accesories.
- 3 x wardrobe. If u dun want to many, u can deduct RM1k for each wardrobe u dun wan.
- 1 x 8' tv cabinet.
Nowadays there are many contractors waiting outside the condo passing name cards. The most famous one must be the "3 musketeers" under the tree that stops your car. I also got but I have not called them yet. Anyone already gotten a quote?
Zenith Woodsmith (AH show room ID) is now stationed in the sales office. Have given them info on what I want to do but will only get the price on the coming weekend.
If you want something close to AH, then there's a new ID shop in the row of shophouses just before you turn uphill. Look for Steven or the "super in" girl with "super" hair.
I have also stumbled on a company called Chan Kitchen Furniture S/B in LDP Furniture Mall while searching for furnitures.
I find the price reasonable and the sales person very informative and friendly.
Will most probably go for this company unless I get a better offer.
If you are interested, look for Ms. Chris.
I am in no way endorsing any of the company mentioned above as they are also new to me too.
Just sharing some contacts if u r interested.

Re: Kitchen Renovation
I went to Alpha Home Centre in South city plaza Lower Ground
roughly the price is like this:
kitchen - bottom cabinet - RM350 per feet long..
- Top Cabinet - RM280 per feet long..
The material quite good but i forget the name of the material, but the top definitely is not laminated one.. its the man made kind of stone or mosek.. haha.. forget what it call..
and also roughly, the bottom part of our AH is 10 feet and 5 feet for the top part..
Wardrobe - Slidding door type - 320 per feet..
As for AH, i guess its around 5 feet.

Re: Kitchen Renovation
I have not been there leh. Maybe will try when I'm free.
Do note that whatever per foot run price they quote you do not include the accecories like drawers, baskets, soft close, etc. It's the same for kitchen cabinets and wardrobe. And those stuffs are not cheap depending on what you are looking for. I think the "man made stone" is called solid surface. Got branded...LG, Samsung...and also local... The more expensive type have higher acrylic content. LG is 90 plus % if i remember correctly. Local one, the highest I've found is only about 60%. I'm planning to use laminated top to cut cost since I won't be cooking much. But if you cook a lot, do invest in solid surface.

Re: Kitchen Renovation
The place call legend somewhere along the road near sg long.
en, generally i think is about 135 per feet for wall unit for chipboard aluminium and 115 per feet for floor unit. solid surface is 198 per feet and the landing board to support solid surface is 90 per feet.
normal worktop i think only 90 per feet including landing board.
anybody got recomendation on hoob and hob? price so different, can be from 1 set 900 to 3000 =.=

I'm still looking.
I think the one Mr. Vampire bought from Seloka Sukma in Puchong is the Rubine hood & hob set advertised at RM1388 rite?
I'm also considering that one. 2 gas stove 4.5/4.5. 1000m3/hr. LED light. But no auto clean.
I'm also considering Pacifica. Saw it during an exhibition in Mid Valley recently.
Rm2600. Auto clean. 1250m3/hr. LED light.
Vampire dude,
For RM1300, does it include installation, coring, etc.?
Grill for balcony how much?
The yard one is what material?

Re: Kitchen Renovation
I think balcony important leh to have grill. Not that we cannot trust our neighbours but they have been cases where the whole row was broken into becoz the thief climb through the windows. And our balcony is only separated by a wall.
I think it'll cost around Rm350 to install the hood & hob include coring the venting hole but excluding the power point.

Re: Kitchen Renovation
I just bought my sink, taps and some other stuff today.
Single bowl & drainer. S/S t1.2mm. Depth 210mm. ==> RM 350 only.
Tap with flexible head ==> RM100.
This is by far the best deal I found after going in and out many many shops.
If you are interested: Leonfast S/B, Jln Loke Yew (next to Affin Bank). Look for a guy named Daniel (017-9385400). Basically expect AT LEAST half price from all the price tags. They told me they're wholesaler. How true I dunno lah but I did saw their products in places like Housz Depot lah. Again, I'm not related to that guy. Neither do I get any commissions. Just sharing something I felt (or in my humble opinion) is a good bargain.

Re: Kitchen Renovation
Anyone heard of IKA brand of hood and hob before?
Saw an add and visited a shop in Equine Park selling this particular brand.
10 years warranty on motor.
Price include installation (with the hole) and one time free cleaning service and also a free steamer. RM2,650. Card no charge.
The design is the "slanting" type.
Filter is not the wire mesh type, so easy to clean.
LED lights.
Auto off timer.
Kinda quiet (relatively)
The look...well...so so lar....
Titanium alloy and stainless steel built.
Package comes with a tempered glass (or optionally stainless steel) 2 burner hob. 3.8kW. Flame detection safety feature. Cast iron stand.
Package offered looks good but have not really heard of this brand before.
But the sales person there seems professional and gave really good demonstration and advice. One important thing I learnt today is that the m3/hr rating on the catalogues doesn't necessary equate to the actual suction power. She did a test using a "wok cover" and proves that a rated 900 plus hood have more suction power than one with a rated 1100m3/hr hood. So... do bring along a wok cover during your next kitchen hood hunt.
So, back to the brand IKA. Anyone have heard of this before? Seems like a very good offer.

Re: Kitchen Renovation
I finally bought my hood & hob from a shop in Equine Park called Bright House (the shops opposite Jusco). IKA brand. Not so famous brand but somehow it came highly recommended. They are also selling other brands like Fotile, Fujioh, etc... Purchase include 1 time free service and installation charges include making the exhaust hole. Got a free S/S steamer rack set also (while stock last).
