Is it confirm that hacking to non-shear wall will be allowed ?? For example, kicthen wall at stove area is brick wall type (i found out fr progress photos) , so can i hack for opening for hood ventilation outlet ??

I don't see why not. I've seen others already make the hole, and also holes for air-cond piping.

Yes. That wall is NOT a shear wall. This is shown in the plan provided by the Management office. Defeinitely can make a hole for the kitchen hood exhaust.

The grill for the yard have to be flushed. Balcony one have to just next to the glass doors.
Why some people's grill is protruding outside beyond the wall? Good question...
Why some people's aircond can be place at places other than the aircond ledge?
Why? Why? Why?

OK, thanks for info.
Next question is the outdoor unit of the Aircon.

Is it all must be placed in yard ?? any alternative ?? how about all other owners in AH1 ??

If indoor & outdoor unit far apart , will it reduce the efficiency of aircond , take more energy??

There're only 2 place u can place your compressor unit (as I was told lah).
1. At the designated aircond ledge just beyond your yard.
2. Within your balcony. "Within" means it cannot be seen from outside lah.

Effeciency? I think it will affect lah. How bad? I also dunno. If u really want to know the heat lost then u need to study the heat transfer / loss from the copper pipe. Then u will need info like the properties of the copper pipe, insulation, wall, plaster, paint, etc. But then again..would u rather have a noisy compressor in your balcony? lol! lol! lol!

I think add/relocate power point looping should be OK as many people are doing it. The points that I add/relocate are all on the same wall as existing points so I think it is OK. Anyway I drew it in the floorplan when submitting reno application form.

Jus put into ur renovation application form for the looping or relocate power point. They jus open 1 eye n close 1 eye for the minor hacking. At least u hv black n white to support u to get back ur 1k deposit. Dun gif them any chances to take ur 1k.

Dear friend,

Actually hacking the shear wall to conceal the wire at Living room will impact your neighbor.
Since few weeks ago my living hall wall have hair line crack after my neighbor hack the shear wall in between 2 unit living room for conceal work.
I ask my own contractor to patch the cracked wall myself coz i would like to maintain the relationship.

However I noticed the shear wall concrete have cracked, if you plan to do massive conceal work at shear wall actually you is endanger yourself which really make the building weaken No

I think one of the reason that a lot of ppl ask Lee for renovation is they like hack the wall like nobody.

AH II still got a lot ppl hack wall the conceal the wire...
