From what I know, chimney type is better than recycling. Also the salesman said that better use manual clean than auto clean. Actually I also dunno how auto clean works, but from the salesman's explanation seems like manual clean also not so difficult.

using induction hob. install at wet kitchen so skip hood already coz expensive and nd2 make hole.my advice is dont take cheap hood coz dont hv powerful suction...end up useless..expensive hood will hv easy clean features..

recycling type also not so effective as asian kitchen normally heavy cooking..

Agree with Lucas. Most important is the suction power for hood. For hob, check that it has security auto off function. In case u boil something and forgot, the gas will auto cut off when the liquid overflow.

no choice le, no wet kitchen, don't want to hack wall for hole, so left with slim hood. chimney ard 1000m3/h (if use duct), slim hood ard 800m3/h, when switch chimney to recycle with charcoal filter efficiency lesser, so should be around same like slim hood Embarassed

My opinion and experience lah:
- induction cooker all looks shiny and good when it's new but after some time the scratches are really ugly. And BTW, power cut is the usual thing in AH.
- for hob, buy as much suction power you can. Mine is 1300 but still smells eveything in the living room.

myself is careless, always 4got off fire..so i use induction is for safety purpose...
my friend already complain abt his recycling hood, not effective...so better made hole and install powerful hood..1 time cost

tch,

maybe these info will be useful:
For hob
Safety device - auto cut gas when flame is put off by wind or overflowing soup.
Fire strength - how many kW
Distance between burner

Beside pan support, if you using wok pls check does it supply wok support?

Electrolux fire strength average is 3-4kW+
Rinnai have a model provide 5kW fire but expensive.
Fagor now only have 3 burner glass stove
Elba local brand Egh 9120X provide 5.5kW fire
still got plenty of brand like fotile, rubine and so on...

Most of the hood will making loud noise when we turn it to max power, and it take effort to wipe hood after use, some will need to wash the filter frequently Rolling Eyes

Benefit of hood is can suck smoke to outside when you cook

If you doing wet kitchen hood can replace by Pana/KDK ventilating fan more budget and powerful.

Just my 2 cents, feel free to share your opinion and experience here Wink

Before VP i already start measure our unit size Embarassed
and draw a simple floor plan for my wet kitchen...

After VP i goto put on masking tap at the floor to get how the actual view if do wet kitchen... guest wat i found Laughing
it only left space that can let 1 person stand.
Suggested to change the yard door to bi-folding door to save spaces...
the design of wet kitchen is same as wat we see in level 14 or G floor.

But after consider where to hang my laundry during heavy rain....
Plus the price for doing full height tiles Mad

i kill my plan to do wet kitchen. Laughing

bye bye to my wet kitchen Sad

yup, that what i concern also, initially i either go wet kitchen using ventilation fan, powerful, cheap & quiet, not to mention easy to clean.

After measure space, i need to put 8-9kg washing machine, dryer (given by developer), clothes hanger (that why i install sliding glass windows, can't use balcony to hand clothes when no one at home as rain might wet it), i think space might be very cramp, plus i need to throw off the door to squeeze some space, so i drop this idea also.

ducting hood need either hack wall frm kitchen straight or hack the wall above kitchen windows, then do another hole at custom sliding windows, kinda hassle and costly, i might end up cook maggi mee everyday after that coz broke already Embarassed the only left option is use recycle hood, in which chimney is a waste of space & money as suction power degrade and costly. So slim hood was my final decision:)

Worse case scenario i still can install ventilation fan in kitchen ducting out directly as my wall cabinet not full height, i know is cheapskate, but that only 'cost efficient' way i can think of.... Embarassed

I like your way of survey stuff, quite comprehensive & detailed cheers

Actually glass hob was not in my list, using it now, totally impractical stuff if you need to look clean, almost every single usage i need to wipe the glass... pig

I think pan support is most important factor for me, with greater fire strength might kill off my tiny little cheap hood Embarassed Safety feature comes with a hefty price tag, safest method is never leave stove open when not around, save my house from fire and save my dry wallet too pig

tch,
nor matter wat type of hob/stove you use it is better to use cloth/kitchen tissue to wipe due to hygiene issue. Wink

guyz,
if not install hood or ventilating fan, one more traditional option......
use table Fan to blow everything out to yard hehe... tongue
guarantee 100% provide greater suction power than any hood, plus cheap and portable :great)

Yeepie, good idea! Just like Stephen Chow in one of his movies, pull the rope and run outside. One of his invention for his wife Lau Kar Ling.. haha..

Anyway, my wall cabinet also not full height, just install the normal hood and hack the hole for ducting..
