Anyone customise curtain from Macy? How much will it cost for whole house if include railing and installation?
Normally how much per meter cloth is Ok? Cos i saw in Home Harmony, some cloth cost rm20/meter, some rm40 or even rm60+..
Thinking of using those that can blackout reasonable sunlight (not 100% blackout)

All depends on your design. Aluminium rails are the cheapest. Eyelet much more expensive. Fabric prices varies. Some cheaper one will shrink after washing. Blackout is achieved by using a double layer.

Went to visit Macy yesterday. Quote for whole house curtain RM1400++ include all (rail, hook, install, workmanship). Compared to Homes Harmony RM1300++, its a little expensive. And the fabric in Macy is not the type I like..
Currently until 2/Sept, Macy having 30% discount on fabric for CIMB credit card.
The curtains I have in mind is balcony/master bedroom full length, rooms 2/3 half length. Most probably go for Homes Harmony Smile

another option for your guys.
try to check out at Kamdar, the also provide tailor service for custom curtain.
But they do not assist to install the curtain rail.

they is plenty of fabric for you, the price range is lowest from RM5-7 to RM30+.

Some RM30+ fabric got 50% disc.

i have collected my curtain, i satisfy on their workmanship and will look for 2nd set from them in future cool

Lucas, depend on what type of design you choose.
i just do normal basic curtain design using aluminium rail...
Living and MB is double rail curtain coz i do sheer + curtain

sewing price is around 200+ for basic curtain

fabric price is depend on the fabric you choose

Total is RM650+ for curtain+sheer for whole unit

ben,
my curtain measurement is not from ceiling till floor....
if you doing plaster ceiling... are you leaving a "hole" for curtain and curtain roll or rail at the plaster ceiling?
Or your curtain rail/rod is install below the plaster ceiling level....

the measurement will be varying depend on your plaster ceiling design.

Ben, u planning to do curtain from ceiling until floor?? wow...
anyway, the height from top of balcony door frame until floor should be around 88" (if not mistaken cos the actual measurement is at home). U just need to measure the height and width of all ur doors/windows from frame onwards, then the curtain shop will add addtional few inches on top and side. They are already expert Smile
And you need to tell them which design u want... normal rail type, wooden rod, etc.

yeepie,
Oh..because my wife want to have it from ceiling to the floor as you know
I just have to find the money to pay and she is the one who calling all the shots. I'm not leaving a hole in the plaster ceiling. Just install below the plaster ceiling.

GW,
Thanks Mate! will go for the wooden rod at the living room, Masterbedroom will be going for aluminium because no choice..L window problem. Then the 2 small room will be either blinds or normal curtain

Ben, then you should wait for your plaster ceiling done 1st lor... else later too long or too short.

for MB 1st i trying to get the aluminium that can bend, coz not all aluminium rail can be bend to L-shape. lazy to purposely go to hunt it so just use 2 pieces rails. 1 long and 1 short.

GW,
Can be fixed or not, depend on the curtain design.
My one is fixed, coz the curtain is in 2 pieces.
You can ask them make it in 3 pieces, 2 big + 1 piece is for the small window. Very Happy

oh my... I m using the cheapest way to install rails. Bought double rail for Master B for RM60 at hardware shop, bought the wooden rail for living at Giant and other 2 bedrooms, i bought wooden rail at Ikea for each RM29. Ask the lighting guy to install for free....hohohohoh.

But I havent bought my new curtain yet. Plan to go to Nilai 2 this weekend. Last time for sliding door 10ft, only costs me RM120++ including sewing.Fabric is not bad, balckout reasonable sunlight and even after 2yrs still not fading (unlike readymade curtain i bought at Jusco)........
