Water Connection

Post by thedude on Mon Nov 02, 2009 9:23 pm

I think most have already asked for the electricity and water connection. Mine alrady have electricity but until now still no water. Anyone facing any water pressure issue? I brought some frens who are civil engineers to the unit last Sunday and was told that for our type of design, water pressure is always stronger at the upper level floors. He explained that this is because the piping is running on serial connection so the higher floor unit will have more water to use first as the water from the tank on the top floor will reach them first. Especially true during peak period. Anyone tested already? Please do share as I still dunno which water heater to buy, either with our without pump...

i think the maintenance guy closed your water meter after he tested, like mine also, he closed my water meter last Saturday, then have to ask him to open again.

For water pressure, mine unit quite strong - level 19.

Actually i was in the maintenance office quite awhile on Sat, waiting Avene, she was very bz....while waiting...could get know something was happening...heheh...like a contractor was black listed by maintenance....

Then i went to maintenance office for 2nd times to asked about the water pressure was very very low at my unit....then after Avene checked and realised that the maintenance guy closed the water connection again.

So i was met a lot of ppl in the maintenance office on Sat....may be u are one of them. lol!

tank is located at the top? i was informed by the guy who accompanied me during my inspection that the pump is at lower ground, powered by 2 huge pumps.. either i misunderstood something or i'm poor in comprehand the guy... not sure to get those with or withou pump also.. :\

To those already have their water connected but not moved in yet, please be careful. Last week I saw a unit on the 1st floor become a swimming pool. All the cabinets gone. All room flooded... and meter run non-stop. Dunno who's fault lah. But the point is, turn off your main tap before you leave.

Habis !!, like that also got, sound no good.

Along the dropper water pipe running fr roof top tank down to the ground floor, sure hv a few nos of pressure reducing valve (PRV) in order to adjust & reduce the pressure to the optimum level, not too high not low, otherwise too high pressure will cause damages to everything. just imagine water poured fr 26 storeys to ground what will happen.
So the proper plumber must know all this to fine tune PRV so that in optimum level.

Of course is the developer fault lar. (unless is ur own fault eg. forgot to shut off tap, damaged it due to renovation) DUN forget developer has defect liability period to all owner for 24months fr VP date.

if the leaking test is already done for that unit and sign off by buyer, sad to say, there will be no excuse to blame developer dy. =.= unless the leakage is due to internal piping not external. >.<

Dunno whether they notified the owner or not? I think it was the maintenance people who found out the flooding after the water seeps out. BTW, the leak was from the outside bathroom.

cm, you din ask for co inspection for leaking when you get ur final key? The developer appoinment plumber man will fix everything on the spot.

Final key. I guess you are referring to the 3rd key kept by developer right? Ya, I haven't requested to get back my 3rd key. Even all the defects I submitted I haven't do a co-inspection with the developer. What should I do? Is there a formal procedure?

er... normally they will not open ur water meter before u took ur 3rd key from them. At the same day you took ur 3rd key, request for the water leaking inspection, then they will turn on ur water meter and look for any leakage, all leakage due to lose connection or defect will fix on the spot. After that your water meter will be on all the time dy, and it become ur responsibility for any future leakage not due to manufacturing defect.
and if not mistaken, u must collect ur 3rd key and sign for defect done list before you can proceed to renovation.

Mine is bad. 2 of the pipes got no water even though the internal master host is opened. AH said they need to hack the bathroom and identify which section of pipe got problem and it will take a big effort to repair.

By the way, I never ask AH to turn on the electricity and water. But don't know why all that had been installed and turn on.

dun worry, is normal for leakage cause they cant test it when the hose is connected, no water at that time mar. just tighten it up for any leakage will do. I think the plumber did go check for every single house to fix the leakage, so those late to take the third key, all the leakage should be fix dy before you all took the key. only those kia shu ppl like me where took the key so early need to special request to get the leakage test done first. haha
