Dear All Forumers.

I'm looking for someone to help me out to moderate this Aman Heights Forum to prevent anything bad happen. Currently, I have selected "thedude" as one of the forum moderators and I'm looking a few more to keep this forum Hip and Alive. If you think you have the quality and you want to be one please feel free leave a post here.

Please read below for some details of "Moderators" taken from Wikipedia.

Moderator

The moderators (short singular form: "mod") are users (or employees) of the forum which are granted access to the posts and threads of all members for the purpose of moderating discussion (similar to arbitration) and also keeping the forum clean (neutralising spam and spambots etc). Because they have access to all posts and threads in their area of responsibility, it is common for a knowledgeable and trustworthy member to be promoted to moderator for such a task. Moderators also answer users' concerns about the forum, general questions, as well as responding to specific complaints.[17] Moderators themselves may have ranks: some may be given mod privilege over only a particular topic or section, while others (called 'global' or 'super') may be allowed access anywhere. Admin/thedude,

Since the other blog have been block, I think most of the AH buyer oledi change to tis forum to continue discuss the news regarding AH. Tis is a good place for us to discuss. But I found tat the topic in tis forum bcome more n more recently without any categorise. So in my opinion is tat possible v categorise it into few topic since some of the topic should b under the same category like photo n AH progress. So tat tis forum wont look very messy. Or guy got any suggestion?

It's good to have main topic then subtopic. But the problem is the people do not follow.
As u can see from the topics, most of them is redundant.
What suggestions do u have?

the moderator plays an important role here.. not sure how this forum works but i guess you can move or merge the topic.. and as a start we need proper categories/sub categories. with that in place, if anyone create a topic in irrelevant category, the moderator can just advise and move the topic accordingly. and if user starts to discuss something off topic, i guess it's up to the thread starter to remind the user.. of course moderator can also play a part there..

as for categories.. lets brainstorm.. i'm thowing in a few:
Renovation - renovation, ID, furniture, home appliance, etc
Events & Announcment - any announcement or event organized by the developer, management or our own committee (if any)
Management & Maintenance - discuss about the general maintenance and communication with the management
Legal Issues & Financing - we can discuss and probably help the potential buyer with SPA or finance related issues

The categories seems good but I couldn't find the function to create the categories.
It could be due to some restriction I think.
Anybody can shed some light on this?

maybe the owner didn't giv u full access? and also 1 things here,is it possible when we open certain treads okay,it'll only show from the last post we read.no need to search from whr we read last time.it is easy for now,but if the post is getting ticker,everytime we need to search all the pages to c if we got miss any update or not
got some forums will show like old comment/ new comment like that .so i thinks it will be easier that way to browse around

something's not right with the forum, looks like the database was rollback to 2 days ago...

My previous post was deleted due to the database rollback to 2 days ago (tat wat v guess). 2 issues here:

1. I feel unsecure in tis forum due to the "database rollback" problem. My question is tat tis problem really due to system error or others factors? Is there any possible somebody deleted all the post in past 2 days? Of course I'm not saying thedude since he is AH real buyer n no point for him to do tat. Actually v should thank him but not blame him since he as a moderator here to keep tis forum goin on. If really due to system error, is tat tis hosting company still reliable? Guys, may I ask one question here? Who know tis forum owner? Is tat a real AH buyer like us or somebody else? Can it b developer? Mayb somebody know can share it here.

2. Like wat I said previously, tis forum getting messy n messy now n very difficult for us to view lastest post. But v cant do anything to change it since the forum owner never gif thedude full access to manage tis forum. Can v imagine how is tis forum goin on after 1 more year? I'm thinking y not v (I mean AH real buyers) setup another new forum which v can really manage on it n mayb few of us can help in manage the forum but not 1 person only. I really hope tat got a forum which belong to us, AH buyers/residents, can make us keep in touch, share opinion/mind n others not only now but also in future when AH complete all the blocks.

Guys, tat is my opinion. If anything wrong pls dun keep in ur heart. Feel free to share ur opinion on tis issue. Cheers to all of us!

as far as i know, this forum was created by BenYap. he has been participating in the previous forum since early 2007 so i believe he is a genuine owner (AH2)..

in case you are not aware, this is a free forum provided by forumotion.net.. i don't know how reliable it is as i'm quite new to it but as free service provider, i guess there's nothing much we can demand.. and from forumotion own forum, it does mentioned there's a problem with their server and when it's fixed, the latest database they managed to restore is 2 days old, meaning all the new replies, new topics, new members, etc created within these 2 days were eventually gone (i'm not entirely sure about this as they probably have different database for those that i mentioned).. i guess BenYap should have receive notification email from them regarding the issue...

anyway unless we all want to fork up some money to host our own forum in reputable web host and also to pay for our own domain.. we can only rely on the free one available now.. and come to think of it, we can probably make use of the social networking site like Facebook, MySpace, Friendster etc to get in touch with each other??

I think is a 70-80's disco song. The title of the song will be "I got the Power" I think
